I moved here last summer from West St Paul. I was surprised to find the fishing to be not so good. I have some success in Waseca. I'm looking for some ice fishing lakes
Thanks

Good evening, Musky, and welcome to the Forum. So, do you live in Waseca now? If so, you have a few decent sized lake around you. I haven't fish them or heard anything about them. So, I know nothing about them, sorry. Good luck.

That is for sure. Not the best place for a die-hard fisherman. Owatonna is a nice town, but not a lot of fish near it.

I miss the Twin Cities lakes no sizable pan fish but 6lb bass, 15 lb pike and 40 inch Musky are very common.

Lots of lakes with little fishing pressure in SW Minnesota. Try the MNDNR Lakefinder site and sort by county. I assume you've been on Clear Lake at Waseca. Lots of small lakes that have walleyes stocked annually in the area around Cleveland and west. My personal opinion is that Madison Lake is the best lake in the area for ice fishing as it holds all species of fish

Go to Webster SD if you get a chance. Lots of lakes around there that are full of walleye and northerns.
