I just received an email from Washington Wildlife stating 45,000 jumbo trout will be stocked in local lakes for black Friday, November 25th.
There are links to how many trout will be placed in various lakes.
Happy Thanksgiving and happy fishing !

I am glad for those who get the fish, but a bit disappointed that no fish are planted in the Northwest part of the state.

Those are fresh plants. In all likelihood they will be in a tight ball. Find them and you will likely limit out. The best way I have found to locate fresh plants is to fish near the surface(that is where they are used to being fed) and troll the shoreline (respecting bank fishermen's casting distance) until you get a bite, then troll back and forth through that area until the fish move on.. I have watched fishermen on Lake Padden in Bellingham opening day. You can actually see the bite move slowly around the lake. If you are fishing, you can watch the bite move toward you then away. No worries, it will be back. Have a cup of coffee and watch for the bite to again move toward you, as the crowd is to big to follow the fish. With a boat, you can follow the school. Usually the school will hang out in some places more than others so pay attention. This phenomena decreases the longer the fish are in the lake, but even so, planted trout are school fish. Good Luck.

Just got back from Hog Canyon Lake. Ice was 4 to 5 inches thick and fishing was slow. These were stocked in September and the lake opened on Black Friday. They're still moving in schools.

All I have to say is, are the Cormorants still around? Did I spell that right? Those suckers can really eat trout. I despise them.

I wish they would allow open season on them. I hate them, as well.
