My go to for everything is the uni-knot, double uni or cinch knots. Never fails me, whichever I use'em.
A $400 dollar lure shouldn't need casting. It should leave the boat on it's own & bring the fish back to you. For $400 it should have a camera in it's nose so it can send you pictures of the fish so you can just say yes or no. i paid $12 last year for a top water bait (whopper plopper). Highest priced lure I ever bought.
