Yes. Zara spooks work great for tidal water striper on lower Potomac River. Black chrome belly. 👍

surf fishing for atlantic stripers we frequently use atom poppers (blue/white with bucktail) or a dark blue pencil popper. pop, pop, pop, rest repeat. I continue that right up until I lift the lure out of the water as I have caught them three feet in front of me.

Heck yeah, top water is the most fun ! Especially when they knock the lure clear out of the water.
Remember, stripers usually stun their prey with a tail slap, so
When they slap the lure, wait for that second hit.

Exactly! Buy the biggest stick boat you can then toy with those stripers! I’ve found the best lure for me is actually a Tony Aceta #7 Spoon with a yellow tail on the northern Chesapeake. They also kill the Muskies and Northerns too!

I use YoZuri chrystal minnows, 4 or 6 inches when fishing schoolies in the sedges.

Top water presentations for stripers work great in low light conditions when they're feeding. When stripers are feeding on the surface they have a distinct tale slap when they strike. When you hear that the game is on!

Awesome advice guys. Now all I have to do is find more room in my tackle box. That's harder than finding the fish sometimes. Thanks, I'll look for that tail slap!
