All the fishing reports said today (Friday) was a one fish day. But we never let that stop us before and we didn't today. I don't know if it has ever been done before but we got 4 guys who are all members of the Fishing Stage and we took a 5th member who is staying in South-Texas for the winter on his first beach fishing trip. Now I can't say we really killed it, but we beat the odds by a bunch. We had Brownsville Tony, PadreBino, Eddie Rodriguez and his brother Hector and new guy Andy Nudelman out on the sands of South Padre Island for a beautiful, calm and nearly warm day. PadreBino took lots of pictures so you can bug him for them, I just took this one. Anyway, we had a good time and nobody drowned, and I think we probably got Andy hooked on beach fishing.

Nice fish, Tony, what kind was it? I'm glad you had a good time. I miss SPI. It could be all of this snow that we are getting.

Sounds like a great day Tony, can't wait to see the rest of the pictures.
Great way to get to know a new friend, who share your passion.
The picture is of Andy and I think he was holding Victor's speckled trout. Not that it matters, it was a good day and I think everybody had fun. It's going to be too cold to fish for a few days so I'll bug him to post the other pics.

Ya think?......lol It was about 75 on the beach today and I wish I had worn another shirt. Went right to Amazon this evening and ordered a pair of chest high waders - that water was coldddddd.

Yes, an amazing day, clear water and skies, 9 MPH wind, warm and met new friends. Will post pics later.

Don't forget to wear a tight belt with those waders very hard to get up when fallen down in the surf with your waders full of water and sand

Yeah, I've already had that experience many years ago stream fishing with waders. And I'm not quite as agile as I was back them, so I'll try to be extra careful.

Nice meeting you Andy, sharing a day with you and some the Gul's bounty.
How'd did the turn prepared whole, rather than fillet? Any special seasoning?
I was going to cook my trout today, too windy. Maybe tomorrow I'll fire up the grille.
Sending you more pics. Hey, that trout looks good on you, you'll have to get one of your own on the next outing.
Tony looks pretty happy with his catch. It's called a "no skunk grin".
