2nd day on the ice. Only had a couple of hours, limited shiners but I did get a bigger 2.4 lb one.
See the catch and the release.

Anyone else have ice to fish yet?

no ice to fish unless I am digging around in my freezer to get some fish I frooze this summer and of course that is all catch and thaw and grill. but nice fish I had no idea you could catch bass like that in a froozen over lake I thought they all went down deep in a simihybernation or something.

I was on Hutchins Pond in Concord today. 4-5" of ice. 1 slime dart. The slowest I've ever seen it.

Fish are fish, they still have to eat to get through the Winter. They just expend as little energy as possible. Not sure if it was last year or the year before, but I saw a picture of my Cousin on TV with a 25” LM he pulled through a hole in the ice.

I was out on about 6 inches of ice on Wednesday. Lots of fish checking out my bait, but not many takers. Hard to tell from the photo, but that was the biggest perch I've ever seen - over 14" and an absolute balloon!

Nice bass. I can’t imagine having to fish through the ice. About the only ice I see where I live comes from the frig.

Good job on the release! Thanks for the pics! We have ice but don’t care for it that much. May get together with a friend that has a hut and maybe a power auger.
I like to ski in the winter…
