I was just thinking back to when I was writing an eulogy for my Mom. She passed away Feb 3 2019 a couple of months shy of 103 years. I wrote all about my Mom, but what is real unique was as I started writing it, I looked out my window towards the Olympic mountains and all of a sudden huge Snow Flakes started falling, you know those big wet ones and I said, honest to God truth, "TEARS FROM HEAVEN". I don't like public speaking, but I related to the congregation Moms life, being born April 1916, living through the depression, raising a little mischievous child like me plus my sister and brother. She always supported my Fishing, Hunting and Competitive shooting. Before and after Dad passed away 42 years before, she made dresses for wedding parties, drapes, alterations to cloths of women and men in her town, did alterations for a Men's store and even made a Blind for a National Geographic photographer going to Africa. She lived on a pittance of social security. What irked me the most was two guys living down the street each got more than twice as much social security because the government said they were medically handicapped because they had fried their brains on drugs.
Seems like most things done by our government is to reward bad behavior.

Right? I know people drawing a disability check and they’re doing everything anybody else can do. Way to easy to get rocking chair money now days and people paying for it that don’t owe the recipients anything. Lazy, worthless, POSs in my book. Then there’s those who need it and can’t get it because they don’t know the right people. Sad world we live in.
Great sentiment about your mom!
Wow 103 years. Sounds like she was a great lady! Don’t let the guys down the road cloud your memories.
Those guys are always going to exist even at the top.

One more bit to the story. I in the past told you about my Dad and the jet sled he built and on it he had a 50 horse Merc on it with a jet pump on the lower unit. that pump is an expensive item. She had the sled parked out behind her garage out of sight from the front street. Well a lot of stuff had been coming up missing in the neighborhood including lawn mowers, tools, bikes and of course the Jet Pump off of the boat. Mom had a great neighbor next door who helped her a lot when I couldn't get down there from about 100 miles north. He was a building contractor and an ex marine. he went to those two guys and told them if any more stuff disappeared in the neighborhood, he would RIP THEIR HEAD OFF! Magically items stopped disappearing!
I bought her a new jet pump and she sold the Sled to someone over in the next town.

My daughter had stage 4 cancer 5years ago, age 45. They said its not curable. They did a Whipple surgery on her. Her diet has to change every now and then because her body doesn't like it now. She went back to her job in a factory. After a few years the hours started getting to her. She was able to cut back but even that got to be too much. She has applied for disability and Medicaid. They just refused her for Medicaid because of her 401k. Too much in assets. She won't have insurance but still has to go for MRI's to monitor her Cancer. She is trying her best but it is taking its toll. Her cousin got her Disability and Medicaid for being depressed. Although that can be tough it doesn't compare.

Wow, that is a tough thing to handle at 35 Bob. Can't even imagine having a chlid at that age with cancer.
My prayers are out to you.
Years ago when my Wife and I were just starting out, I had a job cleaning airplanes for an airline. Just about everyone I worked with was getting food stamps, and we didn't have much of anything and didn't make much so I looked into it.
We didn't qualify, because our cars were all paid for and we had no other debt. The person who interviewed me looked me square in the face and told me that if I wanted to get food stamps, all I had to do is trade our cars in on new high-end ones so that we'd have enough debt. Thanks anyway, I don't play that game.

Thanks. To top it off her now ex got hooked on oxycodone. She is living at home now. I wish I could help her more but that would take winning the lottery. Which would be easier if I would buy a ticket.
