As a fellow angler, my sympathies for the loss of your sister. I remember the many fun times with my sister.
Wonder why so any bodies of water are being drained or just naturally low? Its not like we are being flooded out?
BTW, that's a really good reel. I have several and the forerunners, the Shimano Curado's. Like 25 to 30 years old and still work well.
Hello runandgun. Thank you. She was the 1st of the 6 of us kids to cross the great divide. That girl loved to fish. I always see the local lakes drawn down by March but never this early. The Arkansas River is only 20 miles from here & all the dammed up lakes on it are always drawn down as so many Corps lakes drain into it. Maybe the Corps thinks this will be a year of heavy spring rains. We get no snow so there's no snow melt. I personally prefer the round baitcasters. I have Shimano Curado's, Abu revo's & Diawa Tatula's but I seldom use them. I have several Calcutta 200's & they are my go to reels. I had 1 Calcutta 100 & the smaller size seemed comfortable on an all day outing. I wanted another but those 100's when I found them were pricey. I just went in this pawn shop on a whim & there the reel was mated to a 7 ft Jordan Lee rod by Abu Garcia. $40 out the door was a bonified steel. I couldn't be happier. The rod is a medium heavy so I'll probably switch it out for a medium action rod. Tight lines.
