Who knows where Lake Moomaw is?
Lake Moomaw is in the mountains of Virginia near West Virginia. It was formed by a dam on the Jackson River and is in the George Washington National Forest.
Dwieds
Loc: Richmond Va. and Smith Mountain Lake Va.
Beautiful spot. I’ve never fished it but I’ve been on both ends of the lake and it looks like a hidden lake in Wyoming. A lot of people catch nice Brown trout out of that lake too. Nice camp grounds on both ends.
Along with Smallmouths, there are rainbow Trout, browns, and big Yellow perch along with Crappie and Bluegill.

It's about 2 hrs. North of Roanoke, mostly along Rt. 220 to Clifton
Forge, then Rt. 687 to Rt. 603 to
the lake ! Supposed to be a good
trout lake, especially early spring
and in the fall !
