Well, xtfwrench and I went to the Petaluma river today. Got there bout 0800 and launched. Fishin by 0810 and had first fish bout 0815. Wasn't a keeper but we weren't gonna be skunked today.
Was kinda slow but we managed to boat bout a dozen today and we missed 1 or 2. Were off the water by 1:30. So we fished for bout 5 hours. We kept the 2 biggest that were 19 and 20 inches. 1 about 2 and the other bout 3 pounds. Just right for dinner.
One of the ONLY times I've been skunked was when I took Wrench out last January and we bout froze to death for 2 hours and we called it quits and didn't get a bite. Probly could have caught some that day but we just couldn't stand the cold any longer and said "ENOUGH".
Tides weren't the best today but hopefully we kinda made up for it a little today. I'm pretty sure he had a good time anyway.

NICE STRIPERS! It looks like the tide isn't going to cooperate for me for much longer. The lake will be on the rise again by Friday.

Nice going guys! Even though it sounds like the "fish runs" may be waning...you still found them and brought along just what they were after for a meal!

Nice strippers. I wish we had them like that at Canyon Lake where I am. Do you catch'em that big all the time? Great job by the way.

No, the small ones are 14+/- inches. They have to be 18 inches min. to keep. Today we kept a 19 and a 20 incher.
All the rest were shorter than that.
Frequently though, the ones we keep are 24 to 28 inches, 5 to 8+ pounds.

Still have a little bit of flooring to put on but I took a break from it so I could fish.

Well look me up if you do and maybe I can get you out for some stripers.
Love to take guys from the stage out. So far I think I've fished with 16 different stage members. Out of ALL those people, we've only been skunked twice. But one of them I took them out the next day on my boat where I fish and we caught a few.
I think the skunks were just a fluke cause those guys are great fishermen and they didn't get bit either when we went out. Plus one the wind was blowin HARD and we had bout 2 to 3 foot whitecaps that day and we couldn't fish where he wanted to. I wouldn't have been able to take my boat out there that day.
