… need easy access location to fish with my grandkids (ages 6 & 12). Shoreline casting is preference. Durham is home and the closer a spot is to home the more often we’ll be able to wet a line! Thanks in advance!
Thea: I am a long way away from where you want to fish. I suggest you find other fishermen in your area, or local bait houses. The proprietors of those bait stands will know where what, and when for you and your grandkids can have their best luck.
Good luck and post those pictures. Just Sayin....RJS
Thanks! We had great fun shore-casting on vacation at Outer Banks but I’m a fresh water gal and I know there’s a little pond just waiting for us.

Welcome to the stage Thea. sorry I can't help you others will be along. Google and YouTube are great resources also. Good luck on your fishing an show some pics 😁👍 your grandson looks like he's already hooked on fishing 😁👍
Just looking at a map, I'd be heading for Alcove Reservoir. 'Bout 30 miles looks like. Bass, crappie, bluegills, pike. Check it out. Thanks for the photo. And welcome to the Stage Granny.

Catskill creek is nearby and known for nice trout fishing.
