Located in Joplin, MO. Interested in bass, crappie, trout, and cat fishing.
Any recent experience with Toronto Lake, Ks?
Sorry, nothing here from Maryland.
Be patient. Someone will help.
Welcome and looks like you found a nice bass already!

Good mornin', J, welcome to the Forum, nice bass. It looks like you know a little something about the bass. We do love pictures. Thanks for sharing.

The landmine aka the strip pits
You are close too a lot of good fishin spots
All of the ones south of you by Branson.
As Oz posted, lots of good water , not too far from Joplin. I can vouch for the strip pits, right across the border in Kansas. In fact, they start near Joplin, Mo. If you haven’t fished “The Pits”, you’ve missed a good time.
Straight west of Joplin, in Cherokee Co., just south of West Mineral, there’s about 200 pits of all sizes, up to 60’ deep. My wife and I are going to be there for a week, starting Sunday afternoon.
PM me if you want to talk more or hook up down there next week. We’ll be staying at one of the two cabins on the bank of the trout pit.
Welcome to the FS and I look forward to talking to ya’.

Have you ever fished the Strip Pits, just west of Joplin?

Check with the lake offices or intranet
I have not been there but friend pulled down there and water so low all ramps closed
Thank you! Sorry so long to respond.
Have had some luck including a nice stringer of bass and a 19" crappie, but didn't get a picture.
That's kind of what I saw too. Maybe in a few years.
