I’ve got a bunch of size 5-1/0 single hooks of various patterns, in a pill bottle and I’m looking for a more convenient way to store them.

Do you have any suggestions?

I would suggest getting a couple of plastic boxes that have a lot of compartments, you can not only keep your hooks separate but plastic worms, and other small lures safe and untangled. Just Sayin...RJS

store different sizes on a safety pin, then those can go in small bottles, I have a small canvas bag that zips for storing plastic worms. but I have it divided up to each size hook, these are in the packs that they were sold in. I have another, that is used for spinnerbaits for bass fishing, sorted by size and by color.

Plano boxes. I use several smaller, double sided ones. Each dedicated to a style, worm hooks, swimbait hooks, jig heads, etc. They fit nicely in the pockets on my tackle bag.

I'm with Jim. My wife saw that on pinterest. I thought it was a stupid idea until she got me some safety pins and I put hooks on them. Others have seen it and thought I was brilliant. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better than having them loose and tangled. I put swivels on them as well and that's great too.

Plano box compartments separated according to size, & type of hook. It works, but it takes fishing time. I like the safety pin idea.

Got this idea from fly boxes--took a plano box where all the dividers can be removed. Then took a rectangular piece of soft foam (not the stiff kind that's brittle) cut so it fits the length & width but half the height inside of the plano box. But before inserting in plano box, took an X-acto knife and cut lengthwise slits halfway deep 1/4" or 1/8" apart. Then insert in box. This way there is absolutely no contact b/t the stored hooks. It's not perfect but works for me now. I have 2 other similar boxes for different sized hooks. I highlighted the slits with a sharpie so I could see where they were, otherwise they're practically invisible.

Thanks Fred. Yes, I found out after making these that Gamakatsu makes them but in a blue plastic case with black foam inserts so it would be difficult to see the hooks and also $$!

I believe the Bass Mafia ones use black foam as well. Your design is much easier to see, especially in low light!
Smart guy!
