With all the over fishing and massive depletion of global fisheries how long will it be before any fish we eat will be farm raised and all types of fishing banned?

I hope it's not during our lifetime.

So you wish it on your descendants?
1989 I retired from the Navy and started working toward my degree in Earth Science. I did a report for a geography class that year on what at that time was being called "global warming". I drew my own conclusions. After 30 some years of observing the global response to what is surely a global disaster, I've drawn another conclusion. That appears to be the general view of most of the world's population. "I hope it won't be in my lifetime." My daddy used to tell me "Paul, hope in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills up first."
Doesn't seem to be a lot of doubt any longer over whether climate change is real or not. The question remains, is it influenced by human behavior and is there anything we can do it?
I know my answer to both those questions.
I also agree with GHaynes.

they won't have to ban fishing. when there are no fish left the commercial guys will try something else giving those hardy species a chance to recover.

My sentiments exactly , you beat me to it. How will all those guys in the future decompress or just sneak out of the house from time to time. I had a favorite Uncle, when I was young, and with many brothers and a sister, he was able to borrow me and take me fishing (he and my Aunt were childless, not common in our R. Catholic family ). We had-many wonderful times . After fishing we would hang out in a tavern for a while, usually watching a baseball game and playing pinball.I never told my parents until telling my Mom many years after my Father had passed on. She just gave me a knowing MonaLisa smile.
Video games will never replace this. We have fixed things before and I'm hoping recreational fishing will never die, God forbid.

I haven’t seen a decline in fish populations in my time (66 years). I’ve seen a serious decline in quality management that SHOWS a decline in populations but I can still catch as many fish and as easy as I did 50 years ago. Change the approach. Granted now I have to release fish when I didn’t 50 years ago which is adding to the mortality of the fish but I never have a problem catching fish when I know the fishing is good. Don’t go during the wrong time to go. This year has been my worst year ever but I can still catch fish when I know it’s time to go fishing. If I go when the fishing isn’t any good I don’t catch fish. My commercial fishing buddies in Prince William Sound in Alaska are having the best year they’ve had in 20 years this year. No decline what so ever and actually a huge increase. When you spend more time on google than you do on the water your success will show it. My fishing job took a dump this year but it was caused by environmentalists teamed with fish and game biologists conferring with Bonneville power and flooding the dams which caused a serious current change in the river systems resulting in killing more salmon and steelhead smolt than the predator fish were killing. Oops! No consequences for that screw up and they’ll keep doing it to save face, pass the buck and continue blaming it on overfishing by sport and commercial fishermen. Global warming didn’t have a role in that and all of those baby fish were headed to the ocean to re-populate declining fish numbers we should have seen return in two to 5 years. Can’t blame that on nature or the sun, or factories, or melting glaciers, or greenhouse gas escape, or, or, or. It was a total human caused event and the humans are not fishermen. That stunt is going to affect fisheries in the entire two-river system and all of their tributaries for years to come. Not just the fish trying to get to the ocean but all of the resident fish that rely on that run of smolt to survive.

There is fools out there that think banning hunting n fishing is a great idea. They know nothing about the effects of over population. Animals n humans. Also have no idea how much money sportsman pour into the economy

It's not that they don't know necessarily, the fact is that they could not possibly care less. They have their own agendas and that's all they care about.
