Patternoster with crossline 3 way swivels instead of knots?

I'm pretty new to fishing and tying my own paternoster rig with all the knots seems a bit challenging. is it possible to make a paternoster rig with the 3 way swivels?

Spirit, I have seen this rig before but didn't know what they were called. It resembles a hi-lo, so what would be the advantage over one?

I've never used one. But I've read that the pater poster allows the fish to take the bait without feeling the leader, so it hangs onto the bait longer. I've got a couple of Shimano bait runner type reels that do that for me, and I like those much better than any rig I could tie.

Those Shimano bait runners are awesome reels.

Just watched Ryan Moody video about Paternoster and rock fishing. Cool idea about the pencil sinker.

By my way of thinking, bait runner/ bait feeder reels are one of the best innovations in baitcasters ever. i live line shiners a lot, and they do exactly what I need, and you can put your rod down and not worry about either losing your gear, or if in free spool, getting a backlash on a hard strike. Brilliant idea.

Last year I added a Thunnis to my arsenal. Little more money than the bait runner, but mine were about 20 years old and I needed an upgrade. Awesome reel.

Nice! You certainly can't go wrong with any reel by Shimano.
