Hey guys, I wouldn’t say that I’ve been completely away from fishing for the past 15 years, but it’s been down to 1-2 times a year!! Not acceptable. Work(retired law enforcement), Family obligations, Home projects, etc just kept coming. I’m 63, just buried my Father last month ,(we used to float the Eel, and Wabash Rivers growing up in Central Indiana, then fish for Catfish at night on those Rivers and ponds: great memories!) younger Brother passed away fairly recently as well. Many friends dying off. I just told my Wife that hinting and fishing are moving up the priority ladder. I’m 63,& still healthy. Time to wet some lines!! I’ve booked a deep sea trip with 9 other guys for Oct 5th. The drought and fires here in California has dried up a lot of fisheries, but there are still some high country lakes that hold decent trout. So I’m aiming for at least once a month fishing and get some hunting in as well. Fresh caught Rainbows from a mountain stream are hard to beat on the table. I just found this site, but I’m looking forward to following you all.

Welcome to the stage, and a sincere condolence on your recent family losses. Those take time to heal, but memories, as you mentioned, help bring things back into focus.

I do hope that your plans to get out hunting and fishing as frequently as possible pan out! Lot's of members on here from the State of California. Sit back, enjoy the stuff on here, and feel free to contribute once in a while yourself! we all learn a lot about fishing...and various facets of real life too!
