Had a great day with the channel cats
We probably caught over 30 and some really good one’s we only kept 4 with a combined weight of 19 lbs. most was in the 2 to 4 lbs range. I also caught a really big leather back turtle. Everything was caught on chicken livers.

Absolutely stellar guys! Great catching with the catfish...and what a surprise on that turtle! Wow...that had to be rather tricky to unhook without getting thrashed by angry paws-n-claws!

Nice 'cats' ! Only two questions -
grilled, broiled or 'blackened' ? And what time is dinner ?

Do you eat them turtles Mike? I've never had turtle that I know of, but I hear they're pretty good.

I have eaten them but some of the leather backs are now protected on the endangered species list in wv.

Looks like another great day of fishing Mike 😁👍 do you use anything to keep your chicken liver on your hook.

Nice fat channels Mike, they were my dad’s favorite. Though he was not a fisherman (however was a die hard hunter), he’d always drive me down to the Delaware river to catch them when I was a kid.

No,I use bait holder hooks and try to cast easily and I try to find fresh livers.
I use a sharp knife to cut them up and try not to smash them and keep them in the cooler and they seem to stay on the hook better
