Hi everyone I am new to the site. I am a Kayak fisherman looking to fish salmon along the Lake Michigan shore line and in the rivers. Any updates would be great. To the Next Level Steve

Welcome to the Forum, NL. They will be coming in any day now. They could be close to shore right now, but I would doubt if they are in the rivers yet. Charge your battery.
That is quite a nice setup you have there! Welcome and good luck!

Hey Steve, welcome to the stage. That's some setup ya got there. If you had any more stuff on it you'd have to swim along next to it every time you took it out.
Does Michigan not make you register your yak and get CF numbers whenever you put a motor on it? We have to do that out here in California and a lot of other places out here. Looks like you're gonna have lots of fun in that yak. Good luck and post some pics of your fish. Tight lines brother.
Welcome to the stage! Yee Hah...now that set up is to die for! Looks like you have come up with everything needed to cover the bases while fishing! I am in Traverse City, and our local salmon are in various stages of the migration process. Some are already in the rivers, some are still staging at the mouth's and some are just a bit out in the deep water. They are already turning dark, so the bright chrome phase is winding down.
If you ever happen to get up to Traverse City I'd be happy to show you where I fish from my kayak for salmon. There are a few of us around here that are into it. Have you been catching any yet in your area?
A photo from previous fishing to inspire you...
PS. If the winds stay reasonably calm, I will be kayaking in West Bay this evening...and then fishing the same water via boat tomorrow morning. I'll post if anything exciting should happen!

NL, first off…welcome, secondly, that is one seriously tricked-out yak!
Can't see the numbers with all the gear. Nice rig.

Welcome Steve. Great kayak. Fishyaker, that's a nice salmon. A know they can get pretty big. I would think landing them in a kayak would be a challenge at times. Great pics.
There in the river at Manaste and the PM
