Just got a new Tracker fishing boat that I will mainly use on S. Holston, Boone and Claytor Lakes. I've fished all over north and south America, but never here in what are primarily my home lakes (recently retired back to Sugar Grove, VA) I'm particularly interested in Walleyes but also musky and N. Pike. Not so much largemouth bass. Any tips on best fish areas of these lakes, lures to use, depth, etc. will be much appreciated. I'm 74 and if somebody of similar age who doesn't have a boat would like to occasionally join me they would be welcome. No smokers though.

Bob

Welcome to the Fishing Stage, Bob! Sorry; no help outta me, regarding your location, but; I'm pretty sure that you've got a "neighbor or 2" in your general area. ¿Feel good to be "home"? (I bet it DOES.)

Welcome to the Forum, Bob. Good luck and tight lines. Sorry, I can't help you. Hang out at the bait shop for a while, see what you can learn.

Welcome Bob. I'm in NE TN (Strawberry Plains about 20 min north of Knoxville). Where specifically do you live? We are pretty much bass, crappie, catfish and drum around me but the walleyes are here to. I'm near Douglas, Cherokee, Watts Bar, Tellico and Fort Loudon lakes. And the TN river along with the Holston and French Broad rivers. I'm 67 and a non-smoker. Not sure how far apart we are though.

I'm about 50 miles up I-81 from S. Holston Lake. I will fish mainly there or up in Claytor Lake near Pulaski. A couple years ago Lynn and I took our homebuilt tugboat (22') from Knoxville down to Florence, AL and plan next year to go from there down to Paduka and then back up the Cumberland to Nashville or beyond. We may just start again at Knoxville where the French Broad and S. Fork Holston join. Lots of trouble finding someplace to launch and store trailer in Knoxville though. Let's fish together some time! Bob

If you want to fish from the shore or a dock, that's what I'm stuck with. No boat. If you bring your boat, most of the places I fish from the shore have public boat launches. I used to live in Greeneville which is an hour north of me off 81. Not sure where S. Holston Lake is relative to Greeneville. Send me a PM if you want to swap phone numbers.
