Hello everyone, My name is Mary Anne and my husband (The Professor) and I just bought our 2nd boat. First boat the Professor and I bought was an Arriva. More like a sporty boat not really a fishing boat, and only fished off of it once. Someone had named our previous boat "Bad News" and unfortunately that is all we got from it every moment we interacted with that boat!! The boat We just bought is a 2003 Fishing Barge 21 pontoon boat. No other names were attached to this boat, that we know of! We are excited to be rid of our old boat "Bad News" and are looking forward to cruising Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion on our 3 hour tour. After 20 years of marriage we just started fishing together! We are hoping for some long over due "Good News" (where boats and fish are concerned) to start following us!

Glad you left Gilligan and the skipper behind. You'll have more luck now and won't get stranded

The Professor is fishing mostly cats. I am fishing cats but don't want to limit myself and would love to try my hand at catching Crappy, bream, bass and whatever else anyone suggests that may be in those lakes! And for the record, I am not one of those that catch and release (unless of coarse it's not legally allowed to keep) if I ever do finally catch something I plan on eating it! LOL

LOL, Wanna hear something funny.... My best friend since I was 8 years old is actually named Ginger and she and I grew up watching Gilligan's Island (and of coarse I always wanted to be Ginger) and many years later when I first met and starting dating a Professor, my best friend Ginger looked at me and said don't even think your going to stick me with someone like Gilligan, I'll take someone like Mr. Howell! The Professor and I did our wedding in the Gilligan's Island theme complete with SS Minnow life raft on our head table , our napkins said The Professor and Mary Anne and we did our champagne toast to include Ginger and we toasted using real coconuts. And The Professor and I were actually chosen to be the representatives for the Gilligan's Island Fan club for the state of South Carolina!! And The Professor and I use to have a store on E bay that we named "Island Castaways" and we sold beach related items LOLOL, I am serious! And we are hoping since we no longer have that "Bad News boat" our days of being stranded are hopefully over! I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the skipper and Gilligan weren't previous owners of our last boat!

Good luck to you both, hopefully you'll start catching more and enjoying being the skipper of your own SS Minnow

Hello Fred Fish, nice to meet you! I'll keep you in mind and will definitely pass on any info to you I get!
I am glad to hear there are lots of nice people here and I hope I don't get yelled at too soon or too much! You see I have no idea how forums work exactly and just hoping I didn't already break some rules by posting some of my Photos a minute ago!
If I did I am truly sorry and won't do it again! I am one of those people that understand the need for rules and always do my best to follow them! Have a good one and stay safe little buddy! LOL

Look forward to hearing some of them stories and some of those tall tales too! And for the record , any story you hear from me may sound like a tall tale but I promise you it will be the truth! Sometimes (most times actually) my life unfolds like a comedy! Good thing I learned to laugh at myself years ago! LOL

Watch for RJ's stories, he tells us they're true, read for yourself and see what you think.

We love pictures here Mary Anne, whether it's fish, boats, scenery, family, or educational.
And yes Maryann was my favorite, growing up LOL.
My only tip would be, when responding to a post,if you hit Quote Reply, it will include a little of the post you're replying to. That way we know who you're responding to without calling them out by name every time.
Just like above this post.

Thanks, that's a great Tip! (keep em coming!) I was just wondering about that as I noticed when I was replying to different people on here that my reply didn't seem to be sticking to the person I was replying to and found myself looking for the replies I just wrote!! Thanks again, really appreciate the help!
