How many of you while taking a walk, will pass someone in the park, on the beach, or the hallway at work and give a friendly greeting and nothing is returned on the exchange?

Like am i invisible or what?

We all have encountered rudeness, this sure is high on the list.

Like you say, plum, "start each day with a greeting, not a request."

Yea Doug but if that beautiful woman handed you a million bucks, Wifey's tune would have changed.

The other day i said good morning to a fellow yaker and it ended up one of the most informative conversations one could want in a area that i have never fished before.

Now if he would have given me a million bucks that would have been an exceptional day.

Another good one Pllumb, yeah, there’s some rude people out there for sure but the majority are pretty pleasant. The rude ones, I just think must be miserable with their own lives.

I like the ones who act totally surprised. It’s like no one had ever told them good morning. It may be enough to brighten their day and start them passing it on to others.

Good one again, Plum. Unless they're on phone or head down with gigantic ugly face, I always smile and say or wave hello. And some great conversations and meetings have resulted.

I'm pleased to say that EVERYONE I saw yesterday getting ready for and during fishing either responded or greeted me first. And that is
Included her 150 pound newfoundland dog that she was grooming while sitting next to the river. You should have seen the small mountain of fur she had piled on the ground. And that included the tubers that were floating down the river with me standing in the middle.😀😀😀

I try to read their body language…some have their head up and are aware, prepared for a greeting, while others are shut down and I can see they just want to be left alone. Some are even shocked when you hold the door open for them. Lots of issues out there, for sure. Quite often I run into people who don’t speak English, so don’t know what to say.
I always ask what I recognize as a stressed out waitress if I can get them anything? It works as an ice breaker sometimes…
