Hi, I am from Wyoming and have fallen in love with fishing over the last few years. I spend most of my time fishing for Catfish and Walleye. I have a lot more luck with Catfish than I do with walleye. I would love tips on catching more of these fish around my area. I also fish for trout and am going to start getting into Fly Fishing. Any tips would be sweet. My profile picture is of the Sturgeon I caught a few weeks ago in the Powder River.
Welcome to the stage Edelman. Itβs been over 35 years since I had fly fished and just got back into it a week ago. If you like fishing for catfish you can break out your fly rod, put a little popper or dry fly on it and catch bluegills with it. They make great bait for big catfish.
I never thought it would be possible to catch catfish off a fly rod. I usually just put something stinky on and let it sit on the bottom. I meant for fly fishing for trout. But Iβll keep that in mind.
was for catching bluegills on a fly, then using the gills as bait for whopper cats. At least thats how i read it.Dont even know if a flyrod could handle a big cat, unless it was made for small tarpon.
Fishinphil you got it right. Go out and have some fun catching bait so you can go out and have some more fun hooking a big flathead or blue cat.
