Hi from the hart of Iowa .
I live in the woods on an acreage and there is hundreds of inchworms hanging out of the trees . I call them silk worms they hand from a thread like a spiderweb. But the Bass and blue gills love them.
Hello. Welcome to the stage.
Welcome to the Stage. Not sure what they are, what they may morph into, nor how to keep them alive, but great that they will catch some gills. Go get some!

Welcome DR, pretty sure they morph into moths but what species, I’m not sure. Great, you’ve got an incredible bait for free and doing your woods a favor. Bet the crappies would go nuts for them too.

Welcome, Dennis from 90 miles south of you. Hard to beat free bait the fish love!
Dennis, I would hazard a guess that fish were enjoying those worms long before humans appeared on the scene. You are lucky to have that resource. I suggest you experiment with just how to keep them alive for your major bait source. Just Sayin,...RJS
i've seen bass leap a foot vertically to nab one of these off a tree branch hanging three feet above water
