Welcome to the Forum, doughorchak, so, are you asking or telling? I'm not very smart.
I saw a show a few months back which showed Bill Dance(?) using suspending minnow jerk style baits which mocked the forage minnows. The guide had a bait close in color, but used a Sharpie marker to draw the horizontal line on it which matched the minnows. Seemed to work well, but through the magic of television…what doesn’t? It may have been a Smithwick Rogue, but not sure. My memory is good, but really short 😉
Grasshopers work well if you can catch them.
Asking! Have fished with bait for years and done well. a river rig with 1/4 oz weight and bait 8" up bouncing off bottom as we drift! But still asking! :-)

Hey dough, I have been here at my place for the past week and this morning is the first day with no catch and only 1 bite in over 2 hours of wading. I am 5 miles below the dam just below White Hole Public Access. I have used the White River Rig that you are referring to with the 1/4 ounce bell weight and a #6 aberdeen hook. I caught all of my trout this past week with the following baits from top of hook to the point. White then orange Berkley power eggs then a small piece of raw shrimp and tipped with a Kernal of corn. Until today I had limited out each day. They are reporting that silver little cleo's and some rainbow pattern spinners have been working., You should get the AGFC app and go to the weekly report for this week and read what Cotter boat dock and Sportsman's Resort say in their reports. Good info. Here are a few pics of what we caught this week. Good luck and have fun.
