I have heard some people telling live worms are the way to go. When I look on my government website for good fishing practices, they recomend artifical worms.

I don't keep the fishes and put them back in the water.

What are your toughts on that?

This guy was trying to catch a pesky mouse but had nothing to bait the trap with so he used a picture of cheese
The next morning he found that he caught a picture of a mouse.
Artificial anything only fools em part of the time but it never hurts to try, also use some sort of GULP bait until you get familiar with what works where keep a few night crawlers and minnows around

there has been times when gulp worms has caught fish when real worms haven't but also times when real worms has caught fish when gulp worms hasn't. that being said gulp worms are always my go to first and most of the time they work especially trolling for trout for walleye it seems to be more of a toss up I think the slower the presentation the better real worms work I am guessing it gives them more time to look at it longer
