I’m going fly fishing at night for trout at taniecomo lake by Branson Missouri. Beings it’s been 35 years since I’ve used a fly rod I thought I should see if I was still capable of using one. Caught 3 big green sunfish over a pound and a dozen large mouth bass from tiny to just over a pound. I still got it. Here’s a few pictures, enjoy.

You will never forget the technique, it's like riding a bike. Good luck on your trip. I hope they keep the gates closed for you. I have never fished the big browns down there at night. It should be great.

Those panfish make for good target practice.

I didn’t know those big green sunfish were in that little pond. I’ll be going down there targeting them for catfish bait, the flatheads will love them. Thanks for your comments, I appreciate them.

Nice job rut. What flies were you using? I’m going to take my fly rod out on Guntersville and see what I can do.

Yes indeed...you have proven that you still have the knack! Awesome! Great photos too by the way! I was lucky to be spending a "quick weekend" getaway at Taney many years ago, and as always, if there is any chance to fish I bring a rod. Scooped up a non-resident license the day we arrived, and managed to go out one night to fish for those big browns. Caught one and considered it a successful night. I have to admit that it was "shoulder to shoulder" styled fishing where I was...but it was still a ton of fun and a memorable experience!

Enjoy the fishing when you get to it!
