Visiting Fort Collins local fly shop guy said nobody was fishing right now as river was roaring, with muddy water. He was right but I took the beautiful drive up the canyon anyway. Stopped several times but didn’t bother fishing until I found one small spot where I had small window to cast and got a few. Quick pics and all returned safely to live another day. Beautiful fish in beautiful country!

Very Nice OnOff, and multiple choice as well! Glad you took the time for the pics, Thanks
Sweet! Nice trout...and it goes to show a person that you just never know when the right opportunity to fish will be at hand...even with what started out as a pessimistic forecast regarding stream conditions.
That is some beautiful Country, and I have had a chance to visit there a few times in recent years. The fishing was great!
Glad you were able to wet a line and have success!
Nice looking Trout !!
A day out on the river is better than sitting around doing nothing !!
Good fishing 🎣

There is the Poudre River and the Cache Poudre River. Beautiful to walk or drive and fish. You are not far from that canyon that filled with water and wiped out 100+ campers some years ago
You are so right about the beauty of the drive up the "Pooder". Each time I drive back to Kansas, I make sure that either going or coming back, I reserve a day or two in pursuit of pictures and fish along that gorgeous, calendar picture-worthy water with the awesome red walls towering over equally awesome pools.(and kudos to Colorado for having so many pull-outs along the way !) Should be on everyone's bucket list, imo..... even if you don't have any "catching" luck, the "fishing" will be memorable.
Thanks for reminding me of several excellent outings there.
