Hdaniels: Welcome from another native Texan. I actually have no knowledge of your area of interest, but feel that there are others who do. Are you a bank fisherman, or do you fish from a boat? Just Sayin...RJS

Hey, H.D. Welcome. Like Bro. Samples, I am also another Texian. I reside a little north of you in Decatur. We have so many ways to practice our chosen pastime. We can use rod and reels, trotlines, juglines, limb lines, or the old standby, the cane pole. We can bank fish, boat fish, kayak, wade or just nap in the Sun. i once drew a radius of a hundred mile around my home and was amazed of how many different spots I had to fish. I have tried to fish all, but, am still working on it. We get a mindset about fishing just a few places. I would urge everybody to try the "circle around home" trick. See what happends. You've got some great places close to you, also. How many have you fished?

Bardwell is a hoot! It can be really hard. Will give you a challenge. It's a big saucer running north to south, not too deep. The wind can be a nightmare and make the lake muddy at times. Be careful. There are two ramps on the east side and four on the west. You can launch about anywhere you want to fish. The bridge across the middle of the lake offers structure and there are two submerged bridges at the north end, with two main rivers feeding the lake. Good crappie and catfish, fair bass. Try Cedar Creek Lake and Lake Chambers. They're pretty close. Good Luck!
