Why is it that you like to fish? Is it the "hook set", the "head shake" the preparation for the trip, the cooking, the cleaning or what is it that keeps bringing you back to the water? For me it is the "hook set" I can just about feel that hook slip into the jaw of the fish, and then the "head shake". If it is a big one the "head shake" is slow, deliberate & powerful, if it is a little one, it is very quick and disappointing, but its fishing and catching. How about you?
For me it is the water and what surrounds it. The fish are a by product.
Even if you are targeting a specific type of fish you never know just what you might catch. I like the mystery of the hunt.

Just like being out on the water. Your the boss, the worker and the janitor all at once. Love it.
I love trout fishing
It’s a little tackle in your pocket, a few worms in a can . Strolling along the bank in a a green field with clumps of shade to rest under . Carry a good book to read or sit still and let you mind wander over troubled thoughts . After a day on the water your troubles seem lighter , pages in the book flew bye, and you might have caught dinner in the meantime. If no dinner do you really care after such a wonderful day .
I love triggering their killer instinct and the fight. I only fish artificial so they don't smell it and want to eat it. They see it and want to kill and eat it. I mostly just feel a slight tape because bass crappy and blue Gill all inhail there food. The hook set after the tap is the best part. Then the fight slow and steady with the least amount of drag set possible unless they are small mouth bass.
Just being outdoor away from all my worries and cares whether I catch or kill something for food is just an added bonus
I like the quiet and scenery but also playing the fish in is a bonus, not to mention the great meal.

Hearing the drag screaming is the sound of survival.
Feeling the tail slap your leader lets you know how big that fish might be.
But the catch and release is nirvana!

In the ocean I like it when they hit your lure as your cranking it in. Next to that it's the drag being pulled as I'm fighting the fish.
To me it's about friend ship and now we take time to look at every fish and see different markings any injuries ect. We have all down sized to smaller equiptmemt to enjoy the pull and tug of the fish. The big run when they see the boat or the light from the deep dark waters . It's also entertaining to see the others doing the same . We also fish near a military base and we see.submarines come and go and also some great ships being pulled by tug boats. And the sunrises and sunsets . Not a fan of land lovers......
I love the Freedom we have in America! I look back at how many women and men gave their lives so we can in enjoy good old U.S.A.!!!🇺🇸
