Starting from scratch Boat

Well, as the weather breaks..., and the ice melts, the family is itching to Camp and Fish!
This year I thought, why not get on the water.

Question, anyone out there have any experience with folding boats?
Port a boate?

Would love to take the 3 of us out, without a trailer and all the fees associated.

My brother has a fold up boat. He weighes in about 145. And that with s 2 hp Honda on the back is about all it can handle weight Wise. You can try putting three people in it, I might be wrong. But I seen him in it on the lake. Not something I would put my family in.

RDTWU, I believe there are a few people on here that have them. You may want to start a new thread mentioning Port-a-boats, you should hear from them.

Thanks,
I'll look into zodiac..
But deep down, I gotta ask myself..
If they work, more people would use them
If you don't see much of them out there, it'd tell you something.
We converted a small bus into a camper, adding a boat trailer changes what we can get into, only real reason considering a folding boat

Zodiacs are very popular on the coast, yacht tenders, dingys, and for the young ones to buzz around in. They are the pioneers of the inflatable industry, originally designed for Navy Seals, and shore assault, before they went commercial.

I've always been happy with a small aluminum cartopper and 4 to 6hp. I can load the boat on top of my truck pretty easily.

If your loading into a fold a boat EVERYONE needs to wear PFD. I would also stay near shore. They are spooky if you ask me.

Check out the Sea Eagle line of inflatable boats. I have 4 in various configurations, some for many years, now. Tough and no probs.
