excuse me I need to fish now Loc: Puyallup, Washington (near Tacoma)

Potholes reservoir and the Columbia river near Hanford Reach are popular spots as well as Banks Lake. Potholes is on my bucket list but my hips are shot so I don’t know how much small boat fishing is in my future. Welcome to the forum and good luck; maybe we can get together sometime.

Many articles opine that the next world record walleye will come from the Columbia, primarily upriver from Portland.

Banks lake used to be a hot spot. Last season wasn’t that productive. Moses lake or Potholes might be a better choice.

I was lead to believe that Moses Lake had high mercury and fish shouldn't be eaten. Don't know anything about Potholes, other than fishing was good. Park lake was primary for trout but that can change.

There is a lot of areas around the tri-cities. Mostly fished from a boat. Just follow the other people, there is plenty out there doing it.

The Columbia drainage including the Snake has walleye. By drainage I mean any water that originates at Banks Lake, the Spokane River down the Columbia, all the lakes that drain from Banks, clear to the Reservoir behind Bonneville dam. The biggest walleye are caught below McNary Dam and below John Day Dam on the Columbia. The best fishing is by boat but WDFW put out a video on how to catch them from the bank in Moses Lake. As far as dangerous to eat, that’s the upper Spokane River and perhaps above Grand C dam. Way up. Many other lakes in Easter WA have walleye introduced.

Mid-Columbia, hire a walleye guide, good one will teach you most of the info you need to get started. Tastiest fish on the planet.

Thanks for the heads up. I just found out from an friend that the Pot Holes should be put on my bucket list. I fished it, seams like a 100 yrs ago and nailed a lot of perch. I have heard of Hanford Reach. Just need to find out where that is. I really appreciate all you guys advice. I have caught many triploids in Roosevelt. and up the Spokane. Just need to get the hang of catching the Walleye. Caught a couple by mistake fishing for trout. been buying up some gear that supposed to work for them. This spring if time allowing I'm going to hit it hard. Even bought an Electric motor. HardyOne Hay "Excuse Me", did you say you lived in Cle Elem? I pass thru there every now and then on my way to the Tri Cities. Like you said, perhaps We can get together for a chat on my thru. I gen. stop at the Safeway store for a refreshment. Just need contact info. E-mail if you have it.

Thanks! I had a guide sch. for last June, Corvid took care of that. I have been watching lots of u-tube on fishing for walleye, but it always in North Dakota, Min., or someplace in the mid west. I see what they do, just need the practice. Got most of the gear now. HardyOne
