Caught my first fish surf fishing Sunday been coming to Perdio Key Fl. For 3 years now spend 5 weeks down here finally hooked up yesterday well worth the wait 40 lb black drum my biggest fish ever.

Nice drum. That had to be quite the shock when you first pulled the rod out of the holder and felt the weight.

That’s an awesome catch Elwood! Congratulations!! I go surf fishing once or twice a year off Northern California coast. Haven’t caught any keepers yet. Must not be holding my mouth right...

Congratulations Elmwood, that's a killer for a first fish! The only drawback is now you're spoiled, everything after that is gonna feel like live bait on your line LOL. Very happy for you!
