What kinda fish is this. Have you ever eaten one. What are some baits to use for them. What are some different ways to harvest them. Unscramble this and be careful handling them and don’t step on one.

My first Boss at the company I currently work for claimed that pickled carp is delicious. He grew up in Germany and those were all he could catch, due to the complications of fishing there. His license allowed him to fish a single stretch of one river (from this bridge...to that one) about a half mile long...that’s it. Carp were the only thing in this particular stretch.

Carp, if cleaned properly they are not to bad to eat. We would deep fat fry.

My dad had a recipe for cooking those. He said to nail it to a board and cover it with mayo and mustard equal parts. Put board in the oven for 3 hours at 350*. after the three hours remove from oven knock all the stuff off of it then eat the board. Never tried it but you never know.

Used to catch carp in the Susquehanna river around the Holtwood dam while in college and some of the Asian folks would ask me if I planned on keeping them. They were so appreciative to receive those fish.

But seriously, a couple years back a friend and I were at Dale Hollow, staying at Horse Creek Dock. There's a shared area kitchen we'd sit around and talk the days fishing. a couple guys brought in some of the Asian Carp the jumping kind, fried them up they were pretty good, Lots of bones but tasty. They were also frying Walleye so I didn't get much of the carp.

I'll eat the stingray before the carp.

Haven't seen any stingrays around here, I would not be against trying it.

Never ate one but had fun watching a newbie fisherwoman trying to land a 5 pounder on a 4 wt fly rod while fishing for shad.
