Moved from Florida where I mostly fished saltwater with fresh shrimp/live bait. Now I moved to Loudon, TN and I am trying to learn how to fish freshwater with only artificial baits. I would like to learn to fish for Bass, rainbow trout, and crappie. I am looking forward to reading and participating in these posts.

Welcome cashtn. If I can learn to fish any one can do it. You've got several world class lakes in your new state. Buy yourself a beetlespin & go try catching something. A beetlespin will catch anything. Good luck & tight lines.

Welcome to the Forum, cashtn. The crawler is the live shrimp of the freshwater.

Is this like a hermit crab? Can't seem to find it on the web.

Just curious, are you saying you want to stay strictly with artificial baits? If not, you can certainly use minnows for crappies and bass. Tellico and your surrounding area has plenty of great lakes to fish. Check with your local bait shops for what works and when. Good luck. Welcome to TN.
