Egg, is that a Shiras? If so, very, very nice!
The subspecies of moose found in North Dakota is known as alces andersoni. This is also known as the Northwestern Moose. It inhabits North Dakota, Minnesota, and Michigan. The eastern moose (alces americana) inhabits eastern Canada and northeastern U.S. The subspecies of moose in Wyoming and the Rocky Mountains is alces shirasi (Shiras). The final subspecies in the U.S. is the Alaskan moose (alces gigas) is by far the largest subspecies (gigas for gigantic).
As far as I know, there is no overlap in their range although it would seem to be possible at the edges of the ranges.
