My posting on 1/7/21 of How is Your Year Going, Cupcake may have come back to bite me in the rear. My wife has been having some real muscle spasms in her back and neck, coughing, and a fever. She is going to our clinic tomorrow for a Covid-19 test. We have been very careful since March of 2020 to stay at home, wear masks when we must go out, and not go out any more than necessary. I am scheduled to get my first Covid-19 immunization shot on the 27th. But that is of no help now.

She has used the grocery outside pickup at Kroger, and seldom goes any other place all this past nine months. I doubt that she has the COVID-19 virus even now, but what do I know? This last summer my oldest daughter, Rebecca had a bout that put her in the hospital, and all thought it was Covid-19, but afterwards it really could have been a case of the flu. She has recovered without any side effects. Fortunately, we were never in any contact during her illness before or afterwards.

Since we are both 80 and above, I don’t think it would take much for us to take our last trip.
I’ve often wondered when we get that boat ride across the river Styx, will the boatman let me troll one last time? I suppose I should keep one deep running Bomber in my pocket just in case. I could take the hooks off because I won’t be keeping anything I might catch anyway.

As a side note, when I would be visiting at the Bomber plant and we went out for coffee, Ike Walker would often put several lures in his pocket to test them in the swimming pool at the motel’s restaurant. This was before they installed a test tank at the plant. I was surprised he never seemed to get hooks caught in his pants. Maybe if I got one stuck in my pants and leg, and the undertaker overlooked it, would I be able to take it with me into eternity? Since Heaven has a river running through it, surely there would be fish in it. Just Sayin…RJS

Prayers for both of you, RJS. As to your side note, had an elderly friend that had a nickname of "no shells Kasper " after forgetting his ammo on a hunting trip. At his visitation, I slipped a .22 cartridge into the casket, ensuring he would never again be without shells. He was quite a hunter, killing a running buck in the neck at 125 yards with a shotgun slug on his 90th birthday.

Hey Bob,
We’ll be praying for Jean and you.
Heaven does have a river and I believe there will be fish. I don’t think you’ll have to bring anything with you because I believe ALL our needs will be provided for us. We will see when we get there ! 🙏🏻
