Was thinking about painting my leader line-6-8 feet, sinker, swivel down to the hook all flat-black color? Has anyone tried this?

Just all one color, less distraction to the fish possibly?

Wouldn’t “clear” be less of a distraction near the bait/lure? I believe this was the intent behind the development of some monofilament and all fluorocarbon lines.

I've never tried this, was curious if anyone ever had.
I guess I'll give it a try for a bit and I'll report back guys. 👍

Use braid without an added leader of clear, I use magic Marker to hide the lighter colored braid in cleaner water. I always let my buddy have the front of the boat and he usually front ends brutally. He uses leader material about 3 Ft. long and we usually end the day with the same amount of fish unless my shoulders are acting up and I back off the casting most of the day. Getting old and wearing out !

I fish a lot with professional guides in Mexico. They are a knowledgable
lot who do this for a living, and I've learned a lot from them over the
years. Almost to a man, they will color a white or yellow braid with a
black felt pen if the line attaches to the lure.

Thank you Gary Northrop for sharing that. Have been just curious of black leaders vs the normal braid colors, mono or even fluoro.
Painting weights, beads, swivels and leader.
Plan on doing some trials of the two different types, we'll see

How about we all try painting all our terminal tackle CAMO. A sure winner. Then we can compare our catch rate before and after. Maybe there’s a can of camo paint out there.

Knew you’d like that, Davedave. You could try using two cans of paint at once.
So whereabouts you fish, Davedave?
