This topic, or similar subjects, I believe have been discussed by the Forum readership more than once. Have you noticed when you mention something, even when you use your browser to search for something, that object will appear on the advertising of the Forum?
In the past, I have written stories with a mention of cowboy boots. Later, almost by suggestion, ads for cowboy boots appears magically. Later, I have mentioned cowboy hats and then they appear. Has anyone else ever noticed this happening or is it just a phenomenon.
There seems to be a close connection between subject matter and ads that magically appear. Is it really happening, or just my vivid imagination? You can help by also suggesting and then watching to see if that object or item appears in the advertising. So, are we being watched?
I have the wild thought of making some comments about wanting to buy a gross of rainbow-colored condoms just to watch for the ad to appear on the screen between our posted comments. What do you think, would that be too obvious and overt?
I had another thought which might be a good lure to check and see what our secret observers might pick up on. Since my wife and I are in the process of downsizing and moving to Austin, I have a roll top desk made from cherry wood that I am thinking of selling. I have had this desk since 1966 and hate to part with it, but the lack of adequate space makes it an excess piece of furniture. I wondered just how long this would take before rolltop desks appeared?
Am I the only one having pipe dreams or has anyone else also experienced this feeling of being closely observed and watched? It might just be paranoia. Just Sayin…RJS
No RJS, happens all the time here, can’t be simply coincidence.
Yes, I knew that, just was wondering if others were also aware of it. Just Sayin...RJS
Not just here Robert. I believe it is the Smart phone. The Smart TV is probably next!

Man! I'm glad I don't have a smart phone. Mine's dumber that a box of hammers.👍

I wonder who's been looking at so much lingerie???🤔
Yes, I have often wondered who were the customers. I don't think I have ever bought any ladies underwear of any kind. So, why is it so prominent on our pages? I do have a smart phone and have learned to love it.
Just now, when I was preparing to post this article, there appeared in ads of this Forum a whole bunch of ads about roll top desks! Just Sayin...RJS
Happens daily RJS. I searched "on-demand hot-water heaters", like 5 days ago..... still getting pop-ups, here on this forum, as well as a couple of others.....1984 is here and "big brother" is Google Search.
And I just can't figure out what I must have looked at to trigger so many ads hawking the plaid onesies and miniskirts. I AM part Scotsman, but haven't seen my family's tartan, yet.....and besides, I would not be comfy in anything they are offering, much more partial to plaid wool shirts, than skirts......lol.
Having said the above, now that I think about it, I might be enticed to order a kilt in the family tartan. I have never owned/worn one, but then, I don't play bagpipes, either.
FixorFish: I too am part Scot and while I've never desired to wear a kilt, I do love the bagpipes, and have considered ordering a clan pin for my lapel. They offer a large selection and only until recently did I know they existed. Whether they are for real, or a simple promotion, I don't know.
I have had email communications with Jamie, Lord Semple XXI about our common ancestory. Just Sayin....RJS
Have no idea what a "clan pin" is.
I fear that I may have distracted the thread, and RJS to be sure, with the sidebar on tartan plaid..... when in actuality I was bitchin' about the girls in scant plaid "nightwear"?, "fun outfit"?, whatever the hell kind of garments they are....and AGAIN...I don't have a clear correlation to either MY search history or the thread:s conversation, so how/why does the ad show up ?
Might end up just being just another rhetorical question asked, that will remain unanswered.
