Hello. I live in Northern Illinois and unfortunately only get one weekly fishing trip per year. I take whichever family can go with and we go Northern Pike and Bass fishing on Big McKenzie lake in Spooner Wisconsin. We use one rod with a northern minnow on a bobber and one for casting. Anyone familiar with the lake and how do you fish it?

Welcome to the Stage Mistred, sorry can't help you. 1 fishing trip per year? WOW, I complain about once a week during warm weather. Good Luck and Tight Lines!
Hello Neighbor! I travel from Palatine, IL to fish northern pike. Your lake and nearby Bangs Lake and Lake Zuric produce some very impressive northerns in the winter using 5-7 inch bait fish 3+ ft. under the surface on tip-ups, or spinners and spoons in summer, and of course your live bait under a bobber. Good luck!
My 23 yr old daughter gets out fishing more than I do. She's my fisherman.
i wonder what would happen if you used a southern minnow below the bobber.....
What is a southern minnow??
