My wife knows how to fish. She baits her own hook, removes her own catch, etc. She is a quick learner and takes advice far better than I do. She is in the Bassmaster Lunker Club w a 6lb15oz smallie, has caught a 30” walleye and a 40” pike. Never complains about conditions. Loves to fish w her pink St Croix rod, pink Ozuma reel, pink mono, pink fishing gloves, and a pink jig head w a pink twister tail. She’s a keeper!!

Very cool, you’re a lucky man!

At one time my wife fished with me. But no longer. However she will go with me and read while I fish. I enjoy the company of having her with me.

My wife is like yours Papa. She will come along (only if it is a Pretty lake and Warm). About 10 min or shorter at my first Honey Hole she brings out the book.

You’re a lucky man. My wife likes to fish a little. Her first fish was a 19 3/4” smallmouth bass out of our canoe. She is deaf in one ear and couldn’t understand me as I told her to turn and let it swim over to me as guess who forgot the net? Well, what she thought was swing it over to me almost went horribly wrong...she lifted it out of the water with a light rod and as it flipped off the hook, it landed at my feet . I grabbed it and had her hold it for a picture. It is on my wall at work so I will post a picture of that picture when I am back in the office. We did this without flipping the canoe so I married her. 😉

My wife accompanies me occasionally. Are you fishing Lake Hopatcong? I grew up there. It was a long time ago, but it always seemed good for a yellow perch, or 2,
and an occasional largemouth in the '50's

Not really. I had just gotten back from Nam, and started college right away. Saw her walking around campus and told myself not to date her because I would probably marry her. Well after a year and a half of watching her and doing what guys do, I had a friend who knew her introduce us. It was Feb, had our first date in Mar, got engaged in Apr and got married in June. Well 53 years later we are still as happy as ever. I was 22 and she was 20.

I fish out of Cape May NJ, depending on the day of the week my wife will go with me. Fact we we're just in Cancun fishing and she caught a 100 pound nurse shark! Good times!

I am sure I am in the minority, but I would not consider going fishing without my wife. She knows how to fish, and that is fact! We both can't wait for opening day when we will be able to cast our lines and wait for that first tug on our lines! We use only artificial bait and practice catch and release. She even takes her fish off the hook. I am 74 years old and do not work anymore due to a work related injury. I was in the automotive repair business my whole life including being a tank mechanic from 1966-1969 and loved every minute of what I used to do. If not for the injury I would still be working, but now WE have more time to launch our 14' aluminum boat hang the electric motor on the back and off WE go!

I am glad to see that you and your wife enjoy fishing together.I can count on two fingers how many times my wife went with me and they were short trips
