My wife likes to go catching and if that doesn’t happen in the first hour she is ready to go home. I take her to shore and continue my quest.

Ditto. That's why I got a pontoon, so she can entertain herself when (not if) she gets bored.

My wife does not fish and does not want to try. We have a great relationship and are both retired. Fishing is my only time away from each other. My best friend is in the same boat. We enjoy the time away from our wives, jokes, and conversations that neither of our wives would appreciate. Glad you are happy with your situation.

I agree with you my wife is my primary fishing partner and not sure how I would launch my boat and reload it with out her. as I have said before but worth repeating "the couple that fishes together stays hooked"

I think this is GREAT!!! My wife goes when she wants to. She'll sorta fish a while then lay back and open a book. I'll caution her about weather, but other an that, she goes any time she wants...

I couldnt get my wife to go fishing if I put a gun to her head. She got seasick once and I had to bribe her to try a cruise to Bermuda.

You’re a lucky man. My wife likes to fish a little. Her first fish was a 19 3/4” smallmouth bass out of our canoe. She is deaf in one ear and couldn’t understand me as I told her to turn and let it swim over to me as guess who forgot the net? Well, what she thought was swing it over to me almost went horribly wrong...she lifted it out of the water with a light rod and as it flipped off the hook, it landed at my feet . I grabbed it and had her hold it for a picture. It is on my wall at work so I will post a picture of that picture when I am back in the office. We did this without flipping the canoe so I married her. 😉

This the picture of her smallie, her first fish. Pretty nice start...

I enjoyed reading the husband/wife fishing teams. On the rare occasions my wife has gone fishing with me I enjoy her for a different reason. She likes to hang a piece of worm over the side without a bobber. Then she talks to the fish and encourages them to bite. When there's no other action it makes things fun.

My wife has ms as well. She likes to go along but most of the time can't stay out long. We take cooling towels to help a bit but still not all day. It is dun to take her. Just wish she could go more often.

She won’t join me for my sunrise (or before) trips, as she will sleep in...with the dog. I can get her out in the afternoons and early evenings, though. Good enough for me as I do enjoy my alone time, as well. She grew up camping, but her family neither fished nor hunted. Her first time hunting pheasants with me she loved watching the dog work. It was about 70 degrees without a cloud in the sky. We got one rooster off a great point by the dog and as I was picking it up, a huge 10 point buck (yes, a western 5 point) runs by at 5yds...over his back, was a flock of about 30 swans. I couldn’t have scripted it better. “Oh my God, no wonder you love this” was all she said... “Yup, it’s always like this...except when there are no birds, it’s 36 degrees and sleet is pelting you in the face”...
She was also seated next to me when I bagged my biggest Turkey to date. She has shot a few of my guns, but has no interest in killing anything, but fish.

My wife knows how to fish. She baits her own hook, removes her own catch, etc. She is a quick learner and takes advice far better than I do. She is in the Bassmaster Lunker Club w a 6lb15oz smallie, has caught a 30” walleye and a 40” pike. Never complains about conditions. Loves to fish w her pink St Croix rod, pink Ozuma reel, pink mono, pink fishing gloves, and a pink jig head w a pink twister tail. She’s a keeper!!

Well guys, my wife doesn't fish but she doesn't mind if I do.
Today is our 46th anniversary. So I guess we both landed a keeper many years ago.

valentines day will be 45 years for us after I wasted 13 on someone else.
