After being with her all evening, Eastern couldn't take another minute of his blind date.
Earlier he had arranged for plumbob to call him so he would have an excuse to leave if he didn't like his blind date
The waiter came to their table and told E that he had a phone call and he could answer it at the cashier's desk
when E returned to the table he put on a sad expression and said
"I'm so sorry,I have to leave.My grand father just died!"
His date replied
"Thank goodness!!If your's hadn't,mine would have had to!"

As we all.agee we fund out beauty is only skin deep and is in the eyes of the beholder.
That being said she might have been the one that got away.
Especially since one or both of us were blind.
