I have wade fished for bass for thirty years around alligators and snakes and never been bothered by them
Never take not even one step with out your waders being tied off . If you fall forward your waders will trap air in your boots and you will drown

Man, I've stepped on slick rocks in the river & wound up tumbling in water way over my head. I've lost my rod & tackle at least twice. I didn't learn much, never wore a life jacket. I was younger, a redneck & lucky I wasn't at the bottom of the river. I can now see how careless I was. If you can't swim, stay out of the water. If you want to wade bad enough you'll learn to swim. Also, don't wear your combat boots in the water. Don't wear anything that will absorb water. I now use a belly boat. I can wade & pull it behind me. If the water gets deep I can get in it & continue fishing. I don't use waders, they scare me & I ain't afraid of anything. I wear nylon gym shorts & all synthetic lace on shoes. Loose a slip on shoe 1 time & you'll be sold on lace one's. Wading is a wonderful way to enjoy being outdoors & catching a few fish. Just wade in a safe manner.

If I couldn't swim I would stay on the bank or in a boat with a life vest on. I have waded several times and each time step off in to water over my head. You could lose all of you equipment or worse drown and that would be a horrible way to die.

The problem with wading with snakes comes up when you hang a stringer of fish from your waist down in the water. That is an invitation to every snake in the area. I personally know a woman who did that and a snakes fangs got hung in her stocking on one leg. Two weeks later shock hit her and she nearly went crazy.

I guess these actors believe they can do better elsewhere, that is in regards to the more frequent ones that are on every show like LaSalle's actor was. Then there was Linda on the Blue Bloods. She hasn't surfaced anywhere I wonder where or if LaSalle's actor will pop up somewhere.

But the real wonderment is how many actors that said they would leave the country ( like we really care ) if Trump got elected. Why are they still here? DAH!! Fresh new talent and less vocal want a job I guess.

From what I've read recently, Lucas Black (Chris Lasalle) left the show for more qualty time with his family ! As for Amy Carlson, I've yet to find any article stating her reasons for leaving, but she doesn't seem to have any regular program limed up, just a guest star episode on an upcoming series. NCIS, the progenitor of several spin-offs, has killed off more female agents (and a few males as well), than any other series ! Females (agents and family members): Caitlin Todd,
Jenny Shepard, Paula Cassidy, Michelle Lee, Lara Macy (Gibb's friend from LA series), Diane Sterling (Gibbs'/Fornell's ex-wife)
and Ziva David (who faked her death and has re-appeared) ! Then there's Mike Franks and Gibbs' dad, Jackson Gibbs ! Although it's been on for (16?) years now, that is still a lot of people to kill off in one series !

When you put it that way its a death wish to be on NCIS for an actress. But Abby's still alive, maybe.

As for Lucas, if I had the money he made from that show I too would retire from that Hollywood scene. But I think sooner or later he will surface.

Not fond of that new girl, but with the brouhaha that Pauley Perrette stirred up on the set, I'm not too keen on seeing Abby's return, either ! Since Ziva's back, though, I'm kinda hoping to see Tony again soon ! Sorry to see Lasalle go, but I guess he needed more family time, which his schedule wasn't allowing enough of, apparently !

2 sides to every story so I won't judge either of them, Pauley or Mark, and the new girl is just a different character to get used to. As for tony he could use a good head slap now and then on the Bull show. And Ziva just doesn't do anything for me as an actress.

But to each their own just like the war on words in the fake fishing post going on. Opinions at war there.

I went Wade fishing for the first time in my life this summer. I live here in the south of Mississippi on the coast. We traveled by boat to the surrounding islands. I myself can hardly swim to save my life. But the people I went with was very familiar with the area. I stayed within MY comfort zone and I wore waders. The waders suctioned to me so hard that it made the situation very uncomfortable. I eventually took the waders off and waded without like everybody was doing. I really enjoyed myself and can't wait to to go again. Like I mentioned before.... I STAYED WITHIN MY COMFORT ZONE

Wade fishing is a lot of fun. I don't wade near as much as I did in my younger days, & I miss it. You're right about staying in your comfort zone. No fish is worth drowning for but it happens. I was glad to read that you got out of those waders. To me that's wearing a death trap. I can see pilgrams up in the northern states wearing them as a way to stay warm in the colder water. I bought an automatic inflatable life jacket & i wear it
faithfully. It's not uncommon to step off into a deep hole. Watch those cottonmouth's down your way, they can get nasty. I have a sister lives just outside Hattiesburg, good fishing down there. Good luck.

Good for you Mem that you stayed within your comfort zone.

Some of us voice our dislike of those who can not swim that venture into unknowns. That's because not only do we care about your safety, but it also endangers the life of those trying to save you in the event of murphy's law. If you are up stream and the person you are relying on is down stream, it only takes seconds to drown in very shallow water. Therefore, please think of others and will you trust them with your life.

You're telling it like it is plumbob. We have 2 wonderful rivers for wading here. Some places the river narrow's
down & gets swift enough to sweep a wader off his feet. Both rivers are gravel bottoms & in places no gravel just slicker than a bygod rock. When one is thrown off one's feet in the moving water who knows how far a body can be moved before a solid footing can be gained. Also, that fall can be on the edge of a deep hole that can be 100 yards long. No chance for a non swimmer that's not wearing a life vest. I'm half fish & I've lost 2 rods & my tackle getting swept off my feet. Let that stinker rod go, it's not worth trying to save it. Save yourself.
Wading can be about the most fun a pilgram can have with his clothes on but be safe about it. Good luck

Yea Bc I applaud anyone for trying new things can't live in the bubble all our lives. But that darn Murphy fellow will remind us sometimes what can happen. So more power to all like Memmie just please know your partner well enough that they will be there for you, and that vest is on properly before you go in the water.

Then there's the possibility of cracking your noggin against a rock; if you're unconscious in the water, then your chance of
survival is ZERO !
