Grandpa Knows How Loc: OC, California

I'm in my 70's with disabilities. I love my pontoon boat. I got it because I could safely get in or out of my other boats. I don't have to worry about falling in or out of the pontoon boat. Very stable on the water. If I were younger I would add an Electric Trolling Motor and connect it to my Fishfinder to use Pinpoint type technology.
4 stroke motor and I can't hear it running. I get to fish, grandkids can water ski.
This makes a great all around family boat.
Yes, I can load and unload it on my own.

My uncle who just turned 80, had a pontoon boat... he couldn’t walk very well so it was perfect. And, before he sold it just recently, he could roll on to it in his electric chair. Still went out catfishing 🤷🏼‍♂️🏄🏼‍♂️🎣

For stability a Carolina skiff 198DLV [ 19 FT ] OR 178 DLV 17 FT is hard to beat.

I’m 65 and find this center drive to be extremely stable, easy to put in and out, and I use a fighting chair on the bow to be able to fish almost 360 degrees. It is a NauticStar 211 Hybrid. (21feet)

I have a Ranger aluminum RT178 that I found used on Craigslist. It loads and unloads like a dream. If you take the time to put on knee highs you never get wet. It's great for Arizona's Salt River chain of bass lakes and I've used it on Lake Powell but pay special attention to the weather forecast. When I want to fish the trout lakes on the Mogollon Rim I just use the trolling motor. Nothing over 10 horsepower allowed. It's very wide and stable.

Just charter fishing trips. Maybe easiest thing for you to do. Most likely cheaper.

If you're looking for something small, you might consider an inflatable. I have a 11 foot RIB,(an inflatable with fiberglass hull) with a 18 horse outboard that is great for lake, river, and even ocean on calm days.

Roughneck Loc: Lake Weiss, Centre, Al

I have had a Lowe "Roughneck" model 18ft 6in wide flat bottom boat with center console and high sides since 1999 and love it. (Hince my online name is "Roughneck)
It has a windshield on the center console and a vertical hand rail on both sides that gives great support when walking around the sides of the center console. I have a 105 Hp jet outboard on mine for running shallow rivers and tidal creeks with oyster bars. I don't recommend the jet drive for everyone because it is not as easy to steer as a motor with a lower unit and prop. Jet drives use a lot more fuel than conventional outboard. In summary this boat is very stable, has 3 inches of foam under the floor, in the sides. And under the deck and rear seat boxes. It draws only 8 inches of water and will go almost anywhere. I highly recommend it. My second choice would be a fiberglass Carolina Skiff. Good Luck
