Spent some wasted time on the phone with a supposedly arrogant collection agent this afternoon. Telling me I owe $ 600.00 for an unpaid medical diagnostic test back in 2018. I said that I never received the bill therefore send me the bill and I will look into it. He said no, he needs to settle this now with the company and will send me a receipt.

Back and forth we went and threats of a 45% charge if he has to send the bill to us. Back and forth again and on my end CLICK, hung up on that SOB.

So if you all see 1-805-980-9482 on your caller ID tell him I said: Oh never mine it would not be politically correct. Google it and you will see what's going on.

"Hello? Do I know you?" Sorry you have the wrong Number, Have a nice day." Click
Or "Hello, Hello, Hello? I can't hear you. Click"
Not worth the time to argue with them. You could be fishing instead. LOL

Believe me au 53 it got my dander up. When not expecting calls like that one is taken back in that defense mode. So that is why I put it out there so many are forewarned.

Dennis after going through it I am prepared for the next time to just do what you say. This crackpot wanted me to verify the wife's BD and wanted a credit card. Flags go up right away but patience wore out quickly.

Your welcome fly, the other scam awhile back was not to say the word " yes " to any questions. Suppose ably it was used on a voice recognition scam for agreeing to a payment on items being sent to PO boxes.

I love the ones saying I have a problem with windows. 44 years doing hardware and system repair before I retired. I can tell an Indian Accent and even P.I. talked enough to them when doing service calls.
Best thing when things go south is SFC /scannow from a command prompt even can run it from Safe Mode. It checks your windows files from the backup on your hard drive you didn't know was there.
I love when they say send us a Gift card/Money and we will return it to you afterwards. LOL Sure they will.

That's right up there with the pop up that says calls us now you have issues and the screen will not let you do anything. Couldn't even log out. Geek squad warranty folks said scam alert there. Suggested simply turn it off by holding down the off switch and it will reboot normally.

For windows, get the free version of Malwarebytes. You can search for it and download and run it. Any hits wait 2 days and do it again. Once it runs clean do it in a week. Still clean then 2 weeks. They will want you to buy it but you don't have to. The purchased version runs in the back ground, the Free version doesn't run until you start it up. Great anti adware and antivirus, and it is still got a free version.
