Here’s a “ how to “ for a select few... So, this can work for anyone and everyone. You just need a few things and I’m sure many of you might not have what it takes right now, but, you CAN get here. 1) own your own home. Preferably somewhere desirable for tourists. 2) either work from home or self employed. 3) have the “balls” to live your life NOW! As some of you already know, I’ve traveled extensively, from 20-40 years of age surfing and fishing my way through 3rd world countries living as a vagabond working as a waiter, bartender, or construction worker to fund my next adventure. Now, I am married , 50 years old with a 6 year old daughter. My wife and I have devised a plan and have tested it out to major success. We already have a rental that pulls in $2,200 a month. We can rent our house on Airbnb or Vrbo for $6000 a month... $8,200, not bad. Understand, our main objective is to surf & fish as long as possible & before my little one has to go back to school. So we will be in Mexico from the end of June, to the middle of August. We’ll be renting a large villa on the beach for $1,000-$1,400 a month and leaving a room open for friends and family to rent when they choose to visit. So, now we have 6 weeks to surf and go fishing every day, our friends and family supplement the rent on the villa, we’re making $8,000+ a month, and spending no more than $1,500 on food, rent , margaritas, restaurants etc. After all is said and done, we’ll have been on vacation for about 6 weeks, surf/ fish every day, host family & friends, and, end up making $ in the process. Anyone can do this. Maybe not to extent that we will, but , utilizing any asset you may have can get you paid to fish more!!! 🏄🏼♂️🎣
Way to go BF.
Nice family pictures.
Thank you. We are doing a second test run next summer, then going “full in” 2021. I’ll be driving my Ford F-150 down with my boxer dog sitting shotgun. My girls will fly down soon after I arrive at the villa. 22 hour drive. Same as LA to Nashville. 🏄🏼♂️🎣
Time well spent once you get there!
Smart lucky man have a safe trip
Yes! I drove from LA to Tennessee in 2005. Non stop! I was at a BBQ and my buddy had just started a construction business out there... I had just rolled back into LA from building a cabin at Lake Tahoe. Tools & fishing gear already in my truck so I just went. Ended up staying in Tennessee for a year. Wonderful experience all around! The amount of fishable waters in Tennessee is rediculous! But, being a surfer first at that time, I had to come home to So Cal. 🤙🏄🏼♂️🎣
I’ll share the next adventure with y’all. Most likely Bass fishing in Tennessee in April. Unless, I catch a monster bass before then. Hitting up Diamond Valley Lake next Wednesday 🙏🏄🏼♂️🎣
Your face doesn’t look anything like a bass...🤔
Great idea, great family pics, great plan for vacations. 👍🇺🇸🇨🇱
Cheers hacksaw... thank you for serving our country! No way I could’ve done what I have with my life if warriors like you didn’t sacrifice yours! Freedom 🙏🏄🏼♂️🎣
FYI hacksaw, you’ll notice as we move forward on different forums, that I enjoy making fun of myself... yes, I love bass fishing... obsessed really. That said, I came up with “ Bass face” hoping someone would take the B out... and, I know my face doesn’t look like a butt, but, again, life is a funny thing. Very much worthy of fighting for and, at times , laughing at!🏄🏼♂️🎣
Hell, Ass Face, if I didn’t make fun of myself, my wife sure will. In fact she does all the time. Her pet name for me is “freak”. 🤓 🇺🇸🇨🇱
BF / Freak you are a man of many names and talents. It is a pleasure reading your life's accomplishments. Sort of like shows of destinations where folks buy and live in extravagant and exotic places. Often think that those shows are just people with to much un earned money and don't know what to do with it other than brag. You on the other hand have worked hard, played hard, frugal as you have mentioned and respect and enjoy what the Lord has blessed you with. I wish you and that pretty family continued success in your ventures and please do not loose that sense of humor.
Fun vacations like that keeps everyone smiling! No fishing rod in hand must be girls day and the weather is great too. Keep em grinning!
My buddy and I went chasing rooster fish but the water temps were surprisingly low for July in the east cape last year. Roosters tend to be much more aggressive when the water temp is above 82f. It was 76f . Saw a few chasing baitfish but they shied away from our plugs. Waves were good though 🤷🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🎣
