Hi, my name is Phil. I am a 54 year old native North Carolinian who grew up saltwater fishing on Pamlico Sound. As an adult, I naturally gravitated to fishing offshore for pelagic species. I now have an 11 year old daughter who wants to fish. Living in Wake County and owning no boat limits us to bank fishing. I’m looking for places where we can fish and catch bigger panfish or crappies or bass.

Welcome Philly P. Lots of Caroliners here. You’ll probably get a lot of good tips on where to fish. Good luck.👍

Welcome PP... There is one named Plumb Bob on here and he is from the Pamlico area...at least he fishes there...he is on here quite often, so just keep your eyes open for him and hit him up for some info. Good Luck.

If it were me looking a place to bank fish I would try Jordan lake. There's several places at Jordan that has I'll call ponds even though it is parts of the lake where boats can not get into. I never see anyone fishing these, some are several acres in size. All are where hiways cross the lake. Plus there's several smaller lakes around wake county that you can rent boats from. Last week I was on Jordan a saw a couple man/wife fishing from a little peddle type boat. They stayed close to the ramp but caught some nice fish.

Hey Phil you are quite the ways inland, if I am reading the map right you are near Raleigh. Where have you been doing saltwater fishing?
