Hey guys, im new to the forum, but a long time fisher.. BUT, the last 10 years i walked away from the sport.. When my father past away, i walked away from fishing.. Fishing was everything to my father.. I just couldnt take myself to the old fishing spots.. Was to hard for me.. Well, a couple months ago, i started dating someone new, and she is all about fishing.. Went to hang out with her one day, and boy was the best thing i ever did.. I grew up near Lake Barryessa in Napa valley, n did a lot of fishing in Grizzly Island in Suisun valley, now im salt water fishing in the SF bay.. I have no idea what to use or where to go.. If you have any suggestions, please i can use your help.. Thanks

Welcome Rina, a little empathy on your Dads passing. Before my best friend pasted a few years back, every chance we could get together we would share his dock and life's up's and down's as well. It took nearly 2 years to visit his dock again and I can still see and hear him in my mind. Since then I have ventured out to new places and new friends and great memories.

Sorry I can't help you in your search for a new fishing hole there in SF, but quite a few Californians on here once you all wake up. It's 9am here in NC and just letting you know we on the forum can help you fish, laugh, share and care for others. Tight lines and good luck in your search.

My Dad has been gone 16 years this month, and I finally, just this year, took one of his old rods out and used it. Caught more fish on it than any of my other rods, but “retired” it on 10/4 , the day Dad went to Heaven. I’m gonna go cry now....

Beckley pier in crockett has good action. At least one sturgeon landed by someone every time I go. Bat rays hitting sturgeon rigs right now still he'll of a fight.
