Copper River salmon. Brook trout. Arctic greyling.
The Colorado river is filled with stripers and black bass so if you want to go after those stripers rig up with a 2 foot mono leader snap and swivel with a sliding sinker 4 oz or more and a 8/0 hook. For the Black Bass a spinner bait is your best best when fishing in the spring and in muddy water go with all yellow including the blades and a Red Craw crank will also work on stripper and blacks bass just keep it close to the rocks.
The Colorado River has loads of fish; black bass
(Large- and small-mouths), stripers, trout (Az. state
reord for Colorado River - 21lbs./5.5oz.), walleye, flathead and channel 'cats',
and at least two redear sunfish over 5 lbs. (the largest coming in at
5 lbs./12.7 oz.) ! Good luck, whatever you're fishing for !

Back to the Ulu. My wife lived in Adack (sp), for 2 to 3 years and still has her two Ulu knives. She uses them all the time and really amazes me with their use. I have made several with deer antler handles.

Start a new thread no need hijacking this one if you would.
Nothing wrong with a poor white boy with a filet knife he get the job done everytime.Keep it up.
Catching them is fairly simple. Select a lure/fly/bait the fish will bite. Cast, or propel in some manner the object beyond the fish. Retrieve your offering in a manner that will cause the fish to bite it. Don't pay any attention to what the fish does, just reel in his face.
All of the above my friend, all of the above. If its tasty, I'll fish for it. Thanks for the info. I have started a journal on account of my age!
I was in many villages when I lived up there but I never made it to Adak. But I know that in many villages they cling to the old ways. The ones that are left anyway. Its a dying culture. Hell it's a dying arctic as far as that goes!
