I haven’t been able to come back down since April and wondered if anyone is doing any good on the surf or any of the piers? I know sometimes this time of the year speckled trout will be active in the surf early mornings. Anyone having any luck? It’s a shame we can’t keep any flounder, this morning I went out on the ICW and threw my cast net and got some nice mullet to fish with and got a handful of tiny flounder bout 3-4” long. I’ve never caught flounder in a castnet like that. It seems that’s a pretty good sign there’s plenty out there. I’ve never had a problem catching flatfish.

Since no one has chimed in, I haven’t been in a while myself. However this time of year, I will use my cast net to load up on live shrimp. Then go out to the piers and fish towards the end where the water is 10’ deep. Rig a slip bobber and fish the live shrimp about 7’ deep for trout in the morning. Then take the bobber off and fish the live shrimp in the breakers closest to the beach for black drum. Hope this helps and tight lines!
